This is a dessert my brother and sister and I enjoyed as kids when my parents took us to Bea''s Dude Ranch in the Adirondack Mountains east of Lake George, NY. Bea Owens passed it along to our family when she retired. Despite the unusual-sounding ingredients it makes an unforgettable dessert. Skip this if you care about calories!
|2||Cups Sour Cream|
|2||Egg Yolks (reserve whites)|
|1||Tsp. Vanilla Extract|
|1 1/2||Tbsp. Softened Butter|
|1||Cooked Pie Crust|
|2||Tsp. Cold Water|
Cook as pudding first five ingredients (Sour Cream through Egg Yolks). After cooking add Next four ingredients (Vanilla through Butter). Beat Water, Egg Whites and Sugar until satiny. Pour Sour Cream/Raisin mixture into pie crust. Spread Egg White mixture over the top of the pie. Bake at 350° until brown.
