8 Apples, peeled and sliced
1 Handful (~1/3 cup) raisins (optional)
1 Handful walnut or pecan pieces (optional)
1/4 Cup water
1 Tsp. Cinnamon
1 Cup brown sugar
3/4 Cup flour
7 Tbsp. butter


  1. Place apples (and optional ingredients, if used) in a square pan with water and cinnamon.
  2. Mix the remaining ingredients (flour, butter, and brown sugar) and sprinkle over the apples.
  3. Bake for one hour, or until hot and bubbly.

This was my mother''s recipe originally. Optional ingredients are my additions. Still a great dessert with vanilla ice cream on top!
