1 C. Granulated Sugar
1/2 Stick Butter or Margarine
1/4 C. Milk or Half&Half
3 Tbsp. Cocoa
1/4 C. Peanut Butter
1 1/4 C. Rolled Oats
1/2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract


  1. Mix first four ingredients (sugar through cocoa) in a saucepan and boil one minute.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
  3. While still warm, drop heaping tablespoons-full of mixture onto wax paper.
  4. When cool and firm, snack away.

These keep well refrigerated or frozen in an airtight container.

This is a family recipe from my late wife Jean Brooking. The recipe was misfiled and I thought it had been lost, but just found it while looking for something else. It was always a favorite, and very easy to make - no baking.
